By isolating, controlling, and precisely combining millions ofmicroscopic ink droplets, Model 3047 Four Color Ink Jet Printer can placeup to 31 dots of ink within each pixel. Because these dots vary in size,and because the smallest of them are indistinguishable to the unaidedeye, they enable the IRIS Model 3047 to print high-resolution,photorealistic, continuous-tone color images from raster data files.Introduced in September 1989, Model 3047 incorporates the same technologyas IRIS 3024, which today provides cost-effective color hardcopysolutions at over 200 user sites worldwide in graphic arts, cartography,seismology, architecture, product design, and other CAD applications.IRIS 3047 features include:
